Gastroenteritis (Stomach Flu):

• Gastroenteritis is also known as stomach flu
• The condition refers to the inflammation of the stomach or the intestine

Symptoms to look for:

• Abdominal cramps
• Severe stomach pain
• Diarrhoea
• Vomiting
• Fever

Causes:

• Ingestion of bacteria through:
o Consumption of contaminated food
o Contact with an infected person
o Eating uncooked vegetables and fruits

Natural home remedy using carom seeds, garlic, ginger, lemon juice:

1. Take ½ tsp of carom seeds
2. Crush some garlic to paste
3. Crush some ginger to paste
4. Add ½ tsp of garlic paste to the seeds
5. Add ½ tsp of ginger paste
6. Add 1 tbsp of lemon juice
7. Mix well
8. Eat 3 times a day
• This releases toxins from the body and also strengthens digestion.

Natural home remedy using asafoetida powder:

1. Take 1 glass of hot water
2. Add ½ tsp of asafoetida powder
3. Mix well
4. Drink 2 times a day

Tips:

• Clean all vegetables thoroughly
• Cook in a hygienic environment
• Avoid raw or un-coked food
• Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday
• Avoid milk and milk based products as these contain bacteria which can further complicate the condition
