A wonderful collection of 40 amazing keto snacks. Easy to make and so very tasty, they help ensure success on the keto diet.

A photo collage of four keto snacks

Deprivation and cravings are the enemies of any diet, and the keto diet is no different. For those of us used to snacking, learning how to make tasty low-carb snacks can be the difference between success and failure.

Making sure you always have delicious low-carb food to reach for is the best insurance against reaching for the foods you’re trying to get away from – starchy, sugary, and ultra-processed foods.

Savory vs. sweet snacks

I divided this collection into two parts – savory and sweet. As you can see, the savory part is twice as large as the sweet section. That’s no coincidence.

While sweet snacks are okay once in a while, they do walk a fine line between “snack” and “dessert,” and I believe that it’s best to minimize sweet-tasting foods.

What are keto snacks made of?

If they don’t contain wheat flour or sugar, then what do they contain? Scroll down and you’ll see – the savory items are usually made of any one of the following ingredients or a combination of them:

  • Vegetables
  • Eggs
  • Cheese
  • Meat
  • Almond flour
  • Fats
  • Salt and spices

The sweet items are generally made with:

  • Almond flour
  • Coconut flour
  • Dark chocolate
  • Fruit
  • Nuts
  • Fats
  • Sugar-free sweeteners

Store-bought snacks

If you’re pressed for time or just don’t feel like cooking/baking, there are several good options for you when it comes to pre-made low-carb snacks that you can buy. My favorite store-bought items include:

  • Nuts and seeds
  • Plain pork rinds
  • Packaged cheese crisps (100% cheese)
  • Fresh-cut veggies dipped in Ranch dressing
  • 90% chocolate
  • Whole milk Greek yogurt with berries and nuts
  • Cheeses and deli meats

Savory Keto Snacks

These are the ones I make most often. They are delicious, each and every one of them, and I do find that they are more satiating than sweet ones.

1. Parmesan crisps

I make these a lot. They are so wonderfully crispy and flavorful. They are made with just cheese (sometimes I add pepperoni or a jalapeno slice in the middle), and without wheat flour diluting their flavor, they truly are better than high-carb cheese crackers.
